Fast & Fun Christmas Tags

It is almost that time, the time of year I love and believe goes by way too quickly.  Christmas!  I always have grand plans of making lots of wonderful Christmas paper projects and then always decide that I need to slow down and enjoy the season instead of filling it with expectations I know will stress me out.  Believe me, this is every year!

So instead, I create projects like the fun gift tags I am sharing today. They spruce up a special gift without taking too much time.  Each of these took no more than 10 minutes.  Don't you love projects like that?

Each of these tags are made with a different Core'dinations tag.  Check out my supply list below for links to each one.  The textured Core Tags are great for embossing and layering!

I love the Smooth Creative Tags for stamping!  You can see how crisp my stamped images are on the tag above and below.

Do you add homemade tags to your holiday gifts?  Leave me a comment here or on my Facebook Fan page by noon EST this Sunday 12/1 and I'll pick a random commenter to win these homemade tags!

Showering You In Kisses

Valentine's Day is tomorrow! Wow!
Today I am showering you with a non-traditional Valentine's Card
I made for Gel-a-Tins Stamps.

The "showering you in kisses" sentiment was printed on my computer,
then I built the cards scene around the sentiment.

The umbrellas from the "Raindrops Are Falling" Collection were stamped with black Archival Ink onto printed paper. I fussy cut them out and laid them on the bottom of my card (without adhering them). Then I stamped the umbrella handle directly onto the card. **A little hint here...to get just the handle image of the umbrella on my card base, I covered the rest of the umbrella with washi tape while I was inking and then pulled the tape off before I stamped the handle so the rest of the umbrella wouldn't accidently be stamped onto my card base**

I arranged the the lip stamps from "Sealed With A Kiss" randomly around my sentiment and above the umbrellas. They are inked in pink and red Momento Ink.

My finishing touch was adding the umbrellas with Helmar Zapdots to give them a bit of height.

Stylin' with Susan K Weckesser!

I knew it wouldn't be long before I created another
mini canvas on sticky back canvas!
My inspiration was the fantastic "Poised & Pretty"stamp
by Susan K Weckesser @ Unity Stamp Company.

I used Susan's "Poised & Pretty" stamp for my stylish lady and her pretty dress.
I stamped the images on Susan's whimsical papers, Live Love Create &
Live In Color.  The background of my canvas uses these same papers.
Susan's "In Circle Me" background stamp is used for both the yellow gesso
background and around the edges of my canvas in black ink.

I adhered the papers and stamped images with Helmar Decoupage & Craft Paste.
Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste is also what I used to seal my canvas
once all the paint and ink dried.  This is my favorite product to seal my
canvases and notebooks!  It dries clear and my projects are protected!

(please forgive the photo as it was taken on the go with my iPhone)

Using the same Live In Color paper and "In Circle Me" stamp I created
this card for my nephew's birthday.  I love how grungy & edgey this
stamp looks with a different application!

Through August 4th, Unity Stamp Company & Helmar are doing a cross promotion.
Unity Stamp Company is offering 35% off of Susan's stamps!
I am definitely ordering her "A Little Bit Washi" Stamps.

Emboss This!

I have new found love of embossing.
I really love the texture an embossed image adds to a project.

This week's challenge at CropStop Challenge Blog is to emboss.
Dry emboss, wet emboss, de-boss.  Your choice!
My example for this week's challenge includes both dry and wet embossing.

Since I only wanted part of the card dry embossed, I placed the Cart Us "Roses"
embossing folder over 2/3 of my card base before running it through my Big Shot.

To wet emboss I stamped my image with Versa Mark and evenly spread
grainy black embossing powder over the stamped image.  I used my
handy-dandy heat gun to heat set the image.

Crop Stop Supplies:

Crop Stop has an amazing supply of embossing folders & is the only supplier
in the U.S. of Cart-Us and Couture Creations folders.  I love the sharp
crisp images you get from the Cart-Us folders. The Couture Creations
are awesome because they are 5" x7"!  I even have a 10% off coupon
on my side bar for Crop Stop if you NEED to have these awesome folders.

Be sure to upload your challenge project to CropStop Challenge Blog.
