Eye Like Your Style!

Maureen at Stamping With Mo gave me my first blog award!  I am so excited not only to get it, but that it is from Maureen because I am a fan of her blog, too!

This award is called the "Eye Like Your Style" from Janis at Pause, Dream, Enjoy.  This beautiful award was created by her daughter.

The rules are easy....
1) by accepting this award you recognize that the giver "likes your style."
2)you agree to proudly display this award on your blog and post a link back to the giver.
3)you will share this award with those whose styles you like...because there are so many wonderful blogs out there!

Here are a just a few of the blogs (in no particular order) in which I love their styles & give me inspiration:
3) Carla at Real Life with Carla. So happy to see her pages again!
4) Cheryl at Cheryl's Window
6) Maureen at Stamping With Mo

V-A-C-A-TION

In the summertime!  We are all packed and ready to go to the Poconos.  It is a record for us since we don't leave for another 15 hours.  I am looking forward to tubing in the river, hiking, and relaxing with our friends.  No deadlines, no schedule, no worry!

Hope you all have a great week...I know I am planning to!

"Must Love Books"

I forced myself to slow down the last few days to read a book recommended by two of my scrappy friends, Erin & Carla.  Dark Lover is the first in a vampire series by J.R. Ward.  I was a little put off at first since I found it in the Romance section of the book store.  Not normally a romance kinda gal, I bought it anyway.  SO glad I bought it.  I inhaled that book in three days!  Pretty sure I fell asleep with it on my chest Monday night.

While I was at the book store, I found myself wanting my notebook that is filled with books I want to read. I added a couple of books to a post it note and added them to the notebook when I got home. Today I decided to decorate the notebook that has my eclectic list of books. I am going to throw it in my purse, at Carla's recommendation.
Here is my "must read" notebook:

No sign of slowing down....

We had such a busy outdoor weekend.  Today we spent the day at Wells Beach for a Denham family gathering.  Couldn't have asked for a lovelier day.
Lily & her friend, Summer, had a blast boogie boarding & body surfing
in the cold, cold Maine ocean.  I even braved it with them so I could get some
good photos of the girls in the water.

Yesterday Lily & I ran the Nasson "Run for the Gym" 5k.  This was Lil's first 5k. She did it in 30:42.  I am so proud of my little runner!  For me, it was my personal best for a 5k race, 26:55.  While I don't look to beat a previous time when I run a race, I do take pride in the fact that this was my personal best yet.

With no sign of life slowing down before we leave on vacation this weekend, I am hoping you enjoy my picture updates instead of scrapping ones.

Lovin' all the sun!

I am seriously loving the sun that has been bestowed on us the last two days.  All the rain lately has made me realize that I take for granted our typical lovely Maine summers.  People travel from all over the world to enjoy the lakes, ocean, and mountains that surround me every day.  So as I sat at the lake today with the children giggling, splashing, and not caring one little bit that the lake water was a wee bit chilly, I was thankful for the lovely Maine summer day.

The picture of Lily in her goggles (if there is water, there is Lily in a pair of googles) and the picture of the robin's eggs (they are are usually under our deck every year, but this year they nested in our swings) remind me of a Maine summer:

Creative Independence Day

Happy Independence Day! We have spent the last two nights hosting barbeques, so we decided to have a low key day at home. Lily and I scrapped a bit together. In all my reorganizing of my scrap area I decided to throw my chalks away. Why? I really don't have a clue & found myself digging them out of my scrapping scraps this afternoon to help enhance the card below. Here is another project from today:Kass hasn't been in many of my photos over the last year due to her hectic "teen" lifestyle. She asked me to take some pics of her that really represent who she is & not just how I see her (I know you Moms of teens understand that statement). I got a couple of photos in yesterday before the rain came (again!).
