Go Green With Envy!

When you hear the saying "go green" I am sure you don't think of creating a monochromatic layout using only cardstock, but I sure did! I went green with Envy Core'dinations Cardstock.  By using techniques such as embossing, crinkling, sanding and a little bit of paint, I was able to add interest and dimension to my layout without adding another color.

I chose Envy as my monochromatic color because it was the perfect match to the background in my picture of Lily and her friends. I cut and snipped the Envy cardstock in random sizes. Then I embossed & crinkled & sanded the cardstock pieces to give a patterned paper appearance.

I chose a large crinkled piece my cardstock in which to paint my sentiment.  I love how the plain white craft paint just pops on this green!

Don't be afraid to "go green" on your next layout. Core'dinations Cardstock comes in every green imaginable, so I know there is one just perfect for you!  ~Kate

Friendship Gift Ensemble

Happy Wednesday!  Today I am sharing two things I am thankful for...my friends and Quick Quotes.  Quick Quotes Happiness Collection and Quick Quotes Bundles made it so easy to create this fun gift ensemble for my dear friend.  This gift ensemble is perfect for November's Quick Quotes Friday Challenge to create a gift ensemble.  Be sure to check it out!

I am always looking for unique ways to present gifts and recycling tins is always a good way to go.  I reused a Lindt Chocolate tin for my altered gift tin.  The tin is wrapped all the way around in paper from the Happiness Collection.  Don't you just love these bright, fun colors?  The sentiment comes from the Quick Quotes Sentiments Bundle.

The card is designed to compliment the gift packaging. I used the same papers, but pulled out a fun friendship sentiment from Quick Quotes Inspire Bundle.  This sentiment totally cracks me up!

So, the next time you are stumped for how to present a gift, pull out any Quick Quotes line and use your creativity!

Song In Your Heart

TGIF!  I love Fridays just as much as I love creating pretty layouts and using fun techniques.

In my video today I share how I was able to quickly put a themed layout together
using Quick Quotes new Bundles and Cracklin' Rose Collection.  I also share how
easy it is to stencil with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Inks.

See how the music note stencil I used with Dusty Rose Chalking Ink
perfectly compliments the Quick Quotes sentiment I used on my layout.

I used the same stencil technique from my video to accent the flowers in this birthday card.  Using  a birthday sentiment from the new Quick Quotes Sentiments Bundles,  papers that match the sentiment perfectly from Quick Quotes new Stowaway Collection and templates by Kiwi Lane, I was able to create a quick & colorful birthday card.

I designed the flowers using Kiwi Lane's Tiny Wildflower Template (3T, 6T ). Then using the same stenciling technique featured in today's video, I added an extra touch of color to the flowers with punchenella and Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Ink in Amaretto and Blue Hawaiian.

Kiwi Lane Templates would make awesome stencils, too!  Try mixing it up by pairing them with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Ink the next time you need to add a splash of color to your next project.

Who Needs Boys?

Not my daughter and her friends!
At least not right now.

This fun, colorful layout shared on Gel-A-Tins Stamps Blog yesterday.
I had most of this layout completed and sitting on my desk for over a week,
but was struggling with putting on the finishing touches.

I added the fun strip of stamped kisses and knew that was what this layout needed!
The kiss stamps are "SWAK" by Gel-A-Tins Stamps.  I stamped the images with Momento Ink in Lady Bug onto stamping paper and then bordered the stamped strip with Core'dinations Cardstock.

Patterned Paper ~ Pebbles, Inc
Cardstock ~ Bazzill, Core'dinations

Just Add Girls & Water!

I love it when my life gives me a bit of time to create for myself.
Last weekend I was so happy to have the time to start using the photos
that have been sitting on my desk just screaming "use me!"

"Girlfriends" is a simple layout made with Crate Paper and Basic Grey paper
to be framed and hung in Lily's room.
I have created simple layouts of Lily with her friends and framed them for
Lily's room since she was a preschooler.
It is so neat see all the young faces of the girls, who over the last
ten years have remained a constant in Lily's life.
It is one of the joys of living in a small town!

"Just Add H2O" is fun and vibrant just like my grandson!
I pulled out some colorful papers from my stash.
Just loving the brown Core'dnations dotted paper.
All I had to do was sand it down to create that two tone effect and allow the dots to "pop."

Wishing you a scrappy day!!
