This was my Wednesday to hijack the post at Scrap Tiffany.
I rambled on a bit, which I know is not like me, but I was showing off my child's craftiness so. That made it okay to carry on just a bit.

I am sure you have heard the saying "it is so easy a child can do it!"
I love all of the neat things that technology can do for my crafty endeavors, but I have to admit that I find myself overwhelmed at times. My girlfriend is often having to tutor me (or re-tutor me) on using my Gypsy. My sewing machine can be a bit of a conundrum. What do you mean that I can't just thread the needle and hit the peddle? I really can't even tell you how many times my sewing machine has locked up on me doing a simple straight stitch on what should have been a beautiful page.
While I am a bit of a goof with technology, I have tried to teach my girls the basics. They both love to scrapbook. My youngest, Lily, has even have had several sewing lessons with my Mom, too. I am pretty sure at her young 11 years, she is quite simply a better sewer than me. This is her sewing her crab claws for her Odyssey of the Mind costume:
I came home from work a couple of weeks ago to find a card that Lily had made for my husband's birthday. Amazingly, she had borrowed my Gypsy to design the card below and cut it using the Cricut. She even made sure that she covered the back of the candles with solid paper to hide the different colored paper of the candles. Ingenious!
Today's crafting devices really are so easy a child can do it (even if I can't)!
