Thank You Scrappin' Sports & More!
Yesterday was my last post on the Scrappin' Sports & More Blog. Sadly, the company is retiring. It is a loss for the industry! For the last year and a half I have had the pleasure of designing for Scrappin' Sports & More. Behind the business are some absolutely fantasic people. They are supportive and kind and thoughtful. I shared some of my favorite Scrappin' Sports & More projects on their blog yesterday, I thought I would share them my SS&M favorites here today.

Hip Hop 2012
Hip Hop is Lily's favorite dance class.
While she wasn't so thrilled for me to take her photos in her tap/jazz outfit, she put on her
pretty smile for me to take pictures before her evening recital in her hip hip costume.
"Hip Hop" is my first layout using the new Scrappin' Sports & More paper line.
"Sports & Activities" is a fun line. The backsides are trendy and colorful.
This may be my favorite SS&M line yet!
To see more great layouts by the SS&M design team using "Sports & Activities"

SS&M Cards
Yesterday was my day to post on Scrappin' Sports & More Blog.
I shared two cards I made with scraps from previous SS&M projects.
This colorful card is made with lots of scraps from the "Title Sports" line.
It will be tucked away in my daughter's suitcase when she leaves for overnight camp.
I made this baseball card for my FIL. He and hubby are Red Sox fans.
My SS&M scraps were perfect for this!
Father's Day or a birthday, this is perfect for the baseball fan in your life.
Did you know that Scrappin' Sports & More has a new line that just came out?
Filled with Sports & Activities, the "b" sides are just as fun and colorful
as the "a" sides. I am hoping my post woman will be dropping mine off today!

Playlist
We are all music fans in our house. A day doesn't go by without music in our
house or in our cars. Quite often I come home from work and Scott is playing
80's records. Yes, he still buys records! Each car is now sporting an Ipod
jack to play an infinite number of playlists.
Yesterday was my day to post on the Scrappin' Sports & More Blog.
I thought I would share with the world what our songs of choice were
for Sunday. A little peek into what is on our individual Ipods.
Scrappin' Sports & More has several lines that include music papers.
I pulled out two of the lines to work on this layout,
"The Sport Is..."(#1346) and "Girls Rule" (#1404).
The big curves with music notes is a SS&M Supersized Cardstock Sticker (#5569).
I have been waiting for just the right project to use this!
I cut pieces of the sticker off (initially it was round) and mounted the cut
pieces on black cardstock. Doing this made them stand out on my page.
I'd love to know what you are listening to today.
Feel free to share!

Football & Helmar!
Football and Helmar is really what this post is about.
An odd combination, but work with me here.
Today I posted on the Scrappin' Sports & More Blog.
The layout is simple. The photo is cute. The message is clear.
We love the Patriots!
As New Englanders it would be a crying shame to be loyal to another team.
(We are big Red Sox fans, too)

As with all of my projects lately, I used Helmar adhesives. It was
my first go around with their Quick-fix Adhesive Runner. I like it!
I have some exciting news, too!
Erika, from Helmar, has invited me to teach UStream classes
on Helmar Live. I will be teaching instructional classes live on the first and
third Tuesdays of the month at 7 P.M. EST starting on June 19th.
I would love it if you would join me!

Rainy Day Cards
I have a couple of cards to share with you today.
The weather has not cooperated with my photo taking whatsoever.
I love the natural light for taking pics of my crafts as I find the colors
are much truer in natural light. I do hope the sun shines soon!
I made this card for Mother's Day for my Mom.
The patterened papers came from the Princess Kit I won from Hydrangea Hippo.
This is the inside of the card:
This is the inside of the card:
To make the heart I just adhered strips of the patterened paper to cardstock and then used punched it out with my heart punch. It pulled in the quilted look from the front.

S is for Star
Today is my day to post at Scrappin' Sports & More's Blog.
I created this framed flashcard for my grandson's bedroom.
I designed and printed the flashcard text then added the stars made
from Scrappin' Sports & More papers. The flashcard is double
mounted and then placed on the background paper .
This will look perfect in Chase's room!
Out of the scraps from the home decor project I created this card.

Pee-Wee Lily
I found this cute photo of Lily tucked away. Not sure if I scrapped the same photo
years ago or not, but it made me smile and inspired me.
To this date Lily is still a good soccer player. I often share with you that
she is an athletic girl. She has been that way since early childhood.
For this layout, I stuck with lots of soccer paper from Scrappin' Sports & More.
I used three different lines of paper and love that they all coordinate making
this a colorful soccer layout.

These Girls....
My family goes apple picking every year at one of the numerous apple
orchards within a 5 mile radius of our home. This year my sister, Kerry,
was home from Florida so we invited her BFF (since they were 9) and her
daughters to join us. Her girls are a barrell full of fun! They always make
me laugh with their quippy humor (just like their Mom). Lily loves it when
Elizabeth & Jenny visit. The girls love Lily. It is definitely a mutual
admiration. On this day their sense of folly & humor shined again!
Because the photos were just so darn cute (in my opinion), I didn't want to overpower
the layout with tons of color and embellishments. I chose to use a few of the papers
from Scrappin' Sports & More new "Girls Rule" line. The animal print is so fun, just
like the girls!
I fussy cut the word "Laugh" out the "Girls Rule" Cheer paper. To accentuate it, I crinkled and distressed before adding some Glimmer Mist for a little shimmer.
The bit white brads have been in my stash forever.
I added some fun rubon arrows and bling to dress the brads up a bit.

I love to watch Lily in motion. Whether it be soccer, swim, or dance, she is fun to watch.
She is such a sprite. Small and fast and graceful.

Scott found it more difficult this year to get photos of the girls on the bigger field, not surrounded by opponents. That is why I love the middle picture of Lily in this layout. No opponent, just her in motion.
The patterned papers are new from Scrappin' Sports & More. It is the front & back of the new Soccer papers from the "Sporty Words" line. I played on the big "soccer" printed on the paper for the title work. The big soccer ball with the words on it was fussy cut out of the backside of the same paper. Pretty cool, huh?

Half Crazy!
The new "Girls Rule" Line from Scrappin' Sports & More is so fun. From the great big corner titles to the fun prints, it is bound to be a favorite! I was so excited to see a running paper in this new line. It was perfect for this photo of me and my peeps before the Seacoast Half Marathon in November. You might remember that I wrote about the race in this post.

You can find more wonderful projects by the DT using SS&M's two new lines at the Scrappin' Sports & More Blog. Don't forget that the deadline for SS&M DT Call is Jan. 22. Details can also be found on their blog.
I have gotten a couple of comments about the embossing folders I used on this page. I got them from Crop Stop. They are Brocade and Grunge Lines by Craft Concepts. Really awesome embossing folders!

Cap & Gown 2011
I don't know about you, but I often find traditional activities such as sports, holidays and graduations a little more difficult to scrap. Part of it is my need to keep my style in tact while doing an event justice with paper, glue and ebellishments. I have pulled out the pictures in this layout several times over the last few month and have just put them away uninspired.
This time I pulled out the pictures with a couple different lines of paper from Scrappin' Sports & More.
Viola! Perfect!

Simple Thanks
I posted these simple thank you cards on Scrappin' Sports & More's Blog this morning. I already had a project ready for my design team post, but had whipped these much-needed cards up this morning in no time flat. 10 minutes = No Time Flat! Seriously faster than I would have been able to pick out three thank you cards in a store, let alone drive to one.
What is even better than cute cards in No Time Flat? Using scraps to create cards. The papers used in these cards are all scraps from other Scrappin' Sports & More projects I have done in the past.

Homecoming Paper (#1376)

Definitely going to make some more of these!

Just Dance!
It is all fun & games at our house during family events. Most of the time it is all in good, clean fun. Then there are times when the competition is fierce! Playing "Just Dance 2" on the Wii brought out the competitive nature in my sister and niece.
I designed this page using Dance papers from Scrappin' Sports and More's "The Title Is..." and "Title Sports" lines. I made the die cut button/circle border from the back side of the "Title Sports" Dance (#1371) and Hockey (#1375) papers. I love the back sides of these papers as much as the front!
The paint on this layout was an accident. I was trying to write with my Paint Pen by Viva and it exploded all over me, my desk, my computer, and this layout. Instead of tossing the layout, I embraced the mess by adding more paint splatters and the paint circles. I think it adds an element of fun to the page!

Down & Back
Tis' the Season!
Of all the things we do during Maine winters swimming is not
the thing that most people consider, but this is the time of year
that we spend hours upon hours trucking Lily back and forth to swim
practice and sitting poolside for hours to watch her compete for 3 minutes.
We do this because she loves it! We do this because she is good!
You can find this layout on Scrappin' Sports & More Blog today, too.
Swimming photos seem to be a bit busy to me, so I kept this layout simple.
I used back side of the yellow Tennis paper(#1371) from the
Scrappin' Sports & More "Title Sports Line" to frame the pictures.
The Swimming/Wave paper(#1351) is from their "The Sport Is..." line.
Scott was asked to be the team photographer for the Titans Swim Team.
That means lots of great photos and layouts of swim to come!

Take Note!
Today is my day to share Scrappin' Sports & More goodness. I whipped up these two notebooks from scratch. Honestly, it took less time to make them than it would have to drive to buy them. They are the perfect size just to throw into a purse or bag without taking up too much room.
How to make a notebook :
1) Cut 2 pieces (3x4.5") of Tim Holtz Grungeboard for notebook cover
2) Round the bottom corners of the grungeboard covers.
3) Cut printer paper into 2.75 x 4.25" pieces for notebook pages.
(I used 5 sheets to make 30 pages for my notebooks)
4) Decorate your notebook.
5) Bind your notebook. I used my Bind-it-All.
The "Life Is Beautiful" notebook has already made it into my purse. I designed the cover around the fun Scrappin' Sports & More papers from their "Title Sports" line. I just love how the blue Prom paper (#1378) and green Cross Country paper (#1370) pop on the black Hockey paper (#1375) background.
Other supplies include an Itty Bitty Unity Stamp, black Momento Ink, and a glitter pen by Sakura.
The "Memory" notebook is a gift for a co-worker who just had a baby boy. It will accompany a "Memory Jar" for her to save all her little slips of memories of her newborn son as he grows up.
I actually designed the cover after I bound the notebook because I wanted the grey of the grungepaper to show. The neutral of the grey really allows the blue Gymnastics (#1374) paper and green Cross Country (#1370) paper of Scrappin' Sports & More "Title Sports" line to stand out.
The upside down banner was simply made by layering six circles on top of each other and then cuting them in half. I distressed the edges a bit in order to have it appear uniform.
I bet you could use one of these in your purse!

Not Her Game
Lily's love of sports does not crossover into basketball.
She tried. She played hard. She was good.
She just didn't enjoy it.
I love the orange & blue color combo from the Scrappin' Sports & More
papers because it is a perfect match to the uniforms & basketball, but
my favorite part of this layout are the pom-poms I created
using twine that matched the blue in the paper.

Scrappin' Sports & PageMaps
Did you all see this month's PageMaps? The designers at Scrappin' Sports & More had the honor of using Becky's sketches and being showcased in the November PageMaps. I am so excited!
Using an 8 1/2" x 11" PageMap, I created "Sanford Soccer." I used lots of soccer papers from several different Scrappin' Sports & More lines to achieve this totally soccer layout. It is so awesome that each of their lines match and can be used together.
I loved the sketch Becky assigned me, but I am more of a 12" x 12" scrapper. So I took the 8 1/2" x 11" layout and simply added it to some white cardstock giving me the size I needed.

Classy & Fabulous
"A girl should be two things:
classy & fabulous"
~Coco Chanel
This quote inspired my layout showcasing
not only the pretty Prom paper from Scrappin' Sports & More
"Title Sports" line, but also the tiara Kass wore
to her Junior Prom. My dear friend, Kelly, let Kass borrow
her beautiful tiara to finish off Kass' look. It was the perfect touch!
