Photos Shoot for Steph

My girlfriend, and former daycare parent,
asked me to do a photo shoot with her
two beautiful kiddos,
Christian, & Maddie.
There is no way I could say no!
Christian was my first daycare kiddo
when I opened and he is now 8.
Maddie just makes me smile.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I have a moment of silence, mainly because my body keeps waking me up at 5 every morning, but that is not a complaint by any means.  I am enjoying my cup of java before the festivities begin today and allowing myself to jot down what I am thankful for today.*

I am thankful for:

~ Kass & Lily, my two healthy, beautiful daughters, who keep me on my toes & my hairdresser in business. :)

~ A loving husband who has put up with me for almost 18 years.  Believe me that is a feat!

(so this isn't what he looks like EVERY day, or even most days, well....just this one day, but this photo makes me smile)

~ That we are both employed.

~That I am blessed with the most wonderful family and friends (and that they all have a wonderful sense of humor and put up with my quirks :)).

~ That I can enjoy & share my love of crafting, cooking, reading, and running.

~ That I am lucky enough to have a fabulous relationship with both of my sisters (yes, I can forgive them for all the sibling stuff of yesteryears. For the record it was Sandy who wrote my name on my dresser, not me!)

~ I am thankful to live in a country that allows me the freedom to my own spirituality, my own home, to travel, to listen to the music I love, read literature that appeals to me.  I am thankful to the soldiers who work hard to fight for these freedoms!

*Really, I am thankful for these things everyday!

What are you thankful for on this lovely Thanksgiving Day?

Rainy Saturday Sweetness

A sweet peek into tomorrow's new ScrapFIT workout:

Sweet Saturday Blog Hopping:
My FL Cheryl popped me an email last night about this
fun "Make It Merry Party."  60 blogs
filled with wonderful Holiday eye candy.

Last Saturday's Sweet Finds:

My sister and I went to flea markets and
church fairs last Saturday.  Along the way,
I picked up the above goodies for less than
$8 total.  I had something in mind for the
canisters & candle holders (see below).
I also found an antique rod iron bed for
Lily for a mere $20.  It was so worth making
the three girls squish in the back seat so the
bed would fit in the Durango.  I'll post
the before/after of the  bed on a later date.

Not sure what I am going to put in these
beauties, but I sure do like how they
turned out!

I hope you have a sweet Saturday!

Maine Coast Half Marathon Update & More....

We did it!  13.1 Miles of lovely Maine coast!
We couldn't have asked for a lovelier Maine
fall day.  It was a sweet 65 degrees.
My run was strong and I was happy
to have finished in 2 hrs 20 minutes.

The above picture is me, Amy & Lisa
before the race, all happy and raring
to go!  I am sure the finish line pictures
will not be so attractive....you kwim. :)

In honor of our race, I did the layout
below (for my wall of layouts) of Lily's
first 5k last summer.  I used another
Sketchy Thursday's sketch for this one.

1/2 Marathon Map

This Sunday is the day.
13.1 miles of Maine Coast,
 800 other women running,
and completing a goal that I never
would have guessed I would set for myself.
Should I go all Donna Downey on you
and get a 13.1 tattoo?
Nah, but I sure did think about it!
This is the race course:

She CAN fly!

Lily was a bumble bee for Halloween.
She made her own antennas & helped finish her tu-tu.
We thought "if only you can fly," so we whipped up wings.

Then on Sunday we learned that she really can
fly without wings!

ScrapFIT Workout #7 Reveal & More....

This is my DT layout for ScrapFIT Workout #7.
For this workout you have to:
~Do a layout that is family related
~Include neat lettering (like my title work)
~ Include a football or football shape (my leaves)
in your LO.

ScrapMuse is Workout #7's sponsor.
Please come play along!
I can't wait to see what YOU create!

I have all the pieces for the above layout
for quite a while now,
but got inspiration this week to actually do it.
It was great to have Friday night pizza
with Kass and have her share her top 5 favorite
tunes from her IPOD that day (not that I even
know one of those songs).
