Painting With Chalking Inks

Quick Quotes Chalking Inks are one of my favorite mediums for stamping, distressing and chalking techniques, but I do so love figuring out new and creative ways to use the Chalking Inks!  Today I am sharing my newest way of using the Chalking Inks...painting with them.  This is such a simple technique and it has such a wonderful effect.

I created this cute Halloween card using the Dusty Road 6x6 Paper Pad.

The purples in this line are perfect for a Halloween card, but I needed to pull in some green and orange to compliment the Halloween sentiment I used from the Sentiments Bundles.  I painted Limeade Chalking Ink on the purple/cream striped paper.  The painted background paper and the sentiment are edged in Mango Mai Tai Chalking Ink.

Check out how easy it is to paint with Chalking Inks in my video!

Happy With Quick Quotes

Happy Monday!  Today I am sharing a happy layout chalking technique video using Quick Quotes September Club Q Page Layout Kit and Chalking Inks. Last weekend my family took a day trip to a lovely island in Maine, Peaks Island.  We took lots of pictures. I was happy to find these pics my hubby took of my daughter and niece.  They always so happy to hang out and have fun together.  I was happy to see how perfectly these photos went with this month's Club Q Page Layout Kit.

I used Chalking Ink in Tahiti to give the "Happy" chipboard and chipboard flowers some bright, happy color contrast. I also used Chalking Ink in Coconut White, a piece of smooth black cardstock and the remnant of the flowers included in the Club Q Kit to create the fun chalkboard-like border.  Chalkboard effects are all the rage right now and Quick Quotes Chalking Ink makes this effect super easy!  Check out how easy in my video below.

Wishing you a happy day!

Be Bold Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday.   Today I have mid-week layout and video highlighting Quick Quotes Be Bold Collection along with a fun, new technique for you to try using Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Inks.

I love the bold colors in the Be Bold Collection.  Guess that is why they named it that!  Such vivid yellows, reds, greens and teals.  Perfect for the photo of my daughter and grandson.  Wanting to add a bit more teal and black on the yellow backround paper, I created a new bullseye stamping techniqe using Baha Blue & Midnight Confessions Chalking Ink.  This added a fun, whimsical touch to the layout.

Here is a quick video I created sharing how easy it is to create this effect:

I hope you get a chance to try this fun technique!

Imagine. Dream. Fly

Happy Monday! I had just a bit of free time to create yesterday morning before we took off to Lacrosse and then to Soccer.  I made good use of that free time by creating a birthday card for a lovely lady, so I am kicking off this week with a sweet card.

I have been loving yellow and blue together lately. Any hue of blue.  I used Powder Puff Chalking Ink in Lemonade to stamp the feathers.  This color perfectly mimicked the yellow in the patterened paper.  The Chalking Ink also gave them a soft look which I love.

Supplies:
Cardbase ~ Paper Trey Ink
Blue & Black Cardstock ~ Core'dinations
Paper ~ Crate Paper
Stamps ~ Unity Stamp Co.
Powder Puff Chalking Ink ~ Quick Quotes
Wood Bird ~ Studio Calico

Have a great week!

Song In Your Heart

TGIF!  I love Fridays just as much as I love creating pretty layouts and using fun techniques.

In my video today I share how I was able to quickly put a themed layout together
using Quick Quotes new Bundles and Cracklin' Rose Collection.  I also share how
easy it is to stencil with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Inks.

See how the music note stencil I used with Dusty Rose Chalking Ink
perfectly compliments the Quick Quotes sentiment I used on my layout.

I used the same stencil technique from my video to accent the flowers in this birthday card.  Using  a birthday sentiment from the new Quick Quotes Sentiments Bundles,  papers that match the sentiment perfectly from Quick Quotes new Stowaway Collection and templates by Kiwi Lane, I was able to create a quick & colorful birthday card.

I designed the flowers using Kiwi Lane's Tiny Wildflower Template (3T, 6T ). Then using the same stenciling technique featured in today's video, I added an extra touch of color to the flowers with punchenella and Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Ink in Amaretto and Blue Hawaiian.

Kiwi Lane Templates would make awesome stencils, too!  Try mixing it up by pairing them with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Ink the next time you need to add a splash of color to your next project.

Ombre Card

Getting back to some simple card making today with the help
of some Moxie Fab World Challenges.

This card is for "The Ombre Challenge

I used Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking Ink in Baja Blue & Tahiti to create the ombre effect.
I was able to create this effect just by gently swiping the ink light to dark, overlapping the colors, across the smooth white cardstock.  The dressform image was then stamped with the same Baja Blue Chalking Ink, but with a heavier hand.

Supplies:
Cardstock ~ Core'dinations
Stamp & Stamping Paper ~ Papertrey Ink

Mini-Canvas Video For Quick Quotes

Today I am sharing a video I made for Quick Quotes.
I show how I created a pretty & quick mini-canvas using
and Chipboard Die Cuts from the new Cracklin' Rose Collection.

The two mini-canvases I created for the video are very feminine and a wee bit shabby.

As you can see the quotes from the Cracklin' Rose Chipboard Die Cuts have wonderful sayings.
The saying by Pasty in the above photo really does make smile!

Quick Quotes products make it easy to create any altered project.  I love how the PowderPuff Chalking inks have such great coverage and match the Quick Quotes paper collections!
