ReUse

For today's Mojo Monday at Creative Soup we were challenged to take some non-crafy junk and instead of throwing it away turn it into a pretty card, layout, or altered item.

Book Page Photo Wreath

To make this book page photo wreath I started with this junk:

I used my 10 inch circle template (made from an old gift box) as a guideline for cutting the wreath base out of a mailing envelope.  Instead of tossing out this book (which I did offer to our local library first), I used the book pages for the skirting & flowers of the wreath.

I accordian folded ripped out book pages, stapled each end and cut them in half. Then I hot glued the pages around the outside of my wreath base, layering and overlapping 3 times.

I used the Faux Rosewoood Flower Tutorial at Under the Table and Dreaming to make the book page flowers that frame the picture of Kass.  I cut the circles in all different sizes.  The flowers are edged with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

This project will go on my wall of layouts.   I just love how it turned out!
