Oh Boy!

This week's challenge prompt at Scrap Tiffany is
"all about boys."

I am sure that most of you are aware that I am a crazy girly scrapper.  My two beautiful girls are usually the muses of my work.  Today is different! My spunky, handsome nephew is showcased in my DT layout for this week's Scrap Tiffany challenge.

"Mitchell Man" has been my nickname for my nephew as long as I can remember.  It suits him, always has.  He loves the Red Sox so I tried to stay primarily in that color range...what is more boy than baseball?

I was inspired to create these stars for a layout when I saw this Star Wreath Tutorial at Little Birdie Secrets.  I used their tutorial but used my cutterbee scoring blade & not a scoring board.  Then I used Helmar's 3-D Liquid Pop Dots to give them height and dimension on the page.

See the textured plastic attached to the kraft cardstock?  I LOVE this idea & would have missed it in Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas had I not been skyping with my lovely friend Cheryl while she was working on TH Day 10 Tag.  I literally stopped what I was doing, found myself some plastic and voila! Such a cool way to add texture.

Looks like a page by a seasoned boy scrapper to me.

This came out great. I love that you incorporated the embossed plastic in a layout. So ingenious. I am going to have to try those stars now too.
