Scrap Tiffany Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to Running With Scissors, Spatulas, and Sneakers!  I hope you have been enjoying all the wonderful holiday projects from the Scrap Tiffany Designers. The hop starts at Scrap Tiffany, so if you didn't start there I highly encourage you to begin there and then blog hop all the way back to me.

My name is Katie. I am so excited to show you the first projects I have worked on for this upcoming holiday season.

This year I decided to make some necklace charms and ornaments using Tim Holtz Fragments.  The thing about creating pretty little trinkets like these is I always want a nice way to showcase them as gifts.
Matchbook Gift Card

I made this Riley/Porter necklace for my girlfriend.  Instead of wrapping it inside a box, I created a matchbook card to show it off.

How I made this matchbook card:
1) I trimmed Basic Grey paper to 12" x 4.5".
2) Then I scored the bottom of the card at the 3/4" mark and used a small bit of adhesive in the scored crease and folded to create the flap.
3) I approximated the top of the card and scored two more creased, 1/2" apart to create flat top of the card.
4) To close the card, crease at top scored marks and place front of card neatly into folded bottom crease.
5) I cut a large scalloped square out of the reverse side of the BG paper then cut a window in the square and in the front of the card so the necklace would show.
6) I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch two, evenly spaced, holes in the top of the card.
7) I embellished the card to my liking then tied the necklace at the top of card making sure the charm showed through the card window.

Library Pocket Gift Holder
I simply embellished a library pocket and then placed two large eyelets at the top of the library pocket so there was a place to tie the ornament charm.

I love feedback (who doesn't?) & have a small prize for one random comment left on this blog hop post.  If you become a new follower of my blog AND leave a comment I will put your name in the drawing twice.  Winner will be posted on Nov 10th.

I hope you enjoyed my simple holiday projects.
Kay is next on the ST Holiday Hop.
