Helmar Happy Father's Day Hop

Welcome to the Helmar Happy Fathers Day Hop. Today we are so excited to share with you a variety of fantastic masculine projects.  We've put our Helmar arsenal to good use and want to share with you some inspiration for those last minute Fathers Day gifts.

If you have been following along, you should have hopped here from Jen's Blog. If not, hop on back to the Helmar Blog and enjoy.  Make sure to leave comments along the way, because we will have prizes up for grabs.  And if the Man in your life is super lucky, we may even send him a Helmar prize pack, too.

My project for the hop is an altered magnetic strip.

The magnetic strips were originally used to hang children's art.
I decided to repurpose them. Using paper and Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste I covered
the flat front of the magnetic strip.

The Decoupage and Craft Paste dries clear. So clear! I love that I could layer the papers without any bubbling, too. I wanted the silver edging to show so I didn't cover that part with paper. What I can tell you is that the Decoupage wiped right off the silver edge. No smudging!

I used 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to attach my flower embellishemnts.

Here is the finished strip without the photos:

I cut out some of my favorite fun photos of our family. Using Quick Fix Adhesive, I double matted the photos.
We all know that magnetic strips never really stay adhered even when they have a sticky back, so I used 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere the magnets to the back of my double matted photos.
Here is a close up of the left side of the magnetic strip.
See how clear the Decoupage dried!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Now hop on over to Carisa's Blog where you are sure to find more Fathers Day inspiration. If you get lost along the way, below you will find the links for the order of the hop.

Love the idea. My hubby uses these magnetic strips for holding tools over his workbench, hmmmm...Wonder if he'll mind me decorating his workbench?
