Scrappy Creations & Shout Outs!

I did this fun layout using this week's sketch at 52 Sketches in 52 Weeks.
I found this community a few weeks ago and am really loving all
creativity people use with the sketches each week.

All the little strips are "mom" quotes that were in an
ATC Collection notebook by Memories in the Making
What they say:
~Bored! How can you be bored? I was never bored at your age.
~If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!
~Are you going out dressed like that?
~Do I look like your maid?
~Always wear clean underwear in case you get in an accident
~You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
~You'll understand when your older
~Who said life was going to be
~You will eat it and LOVE it!

"Cute Cousins" was created using a sketch from
I know that I have mentioned Diana's sketch blog before,
but this is the first time I have slowed down long
enough to use on of her fabulous sketches.

This also meets a member challenge over at
This is another community that I have recently found.
The scrappers there are super sweet!
Be sure to check out
their Trick or Treat challenge this week!

My "spooky" decor in our dining room:

My new obsession is blog stalking. Did you all know that there are some wonderful home decorating blogs out there? So many talented women with endless ideas on color, refinishing, and reuse.  I just love meandering through all the eye candy.

Tell Me On a Sunday

Really, I am telling you on a Sunday....about my life over the last week.  It really does seem like October is the most event filled month every year.
This year is no exception!

Kass had homecoming last Saturday.  She looked gorgeous!  I totally love her sassy style.  I gave up my sorority reunion to go help her get ready & it was so worth it.  Who could deny this beautiful girl?

Lily kicked some serious booty in soccer at the Columbus Tournament. She got 5 goals and even got one in with her head.  Unbelievable! She is the little one in red below...

Kass turned 17 on Friday.  I would love to share cake photos with you,
but we are having it later tonight.
Being the busy teen she is,
she had a movie date with friends for her birthday.

Today we started decorating for our
Annual Halloween Bash.
Here is a little something, something I made today with my Cricut:

ScrapFIT Workout #6 Reveal

This is my ScrapFIT DT layout for Workout #6 "Checkers."
I went a little more simple because I wanted the focus to be on the photo.
This is definitely going in my "favorites" album (where I put
layouts with my favorite photos, not my favorite layouts).

The challenge is to...
1. Use black or white cardstock
2. No more than 2 Black and White patterned papers.
3. Some form of distressing in your LO.
4. Black and white photos.
5. The word Memories on your LO.
The winner of this challenge gets a
$10 GC to CROP STOP.
Be sure to upload your layout on ScrapFIT via Mr Linky by October 30th.

I Can Bring Home the Bacon....

And fry it up in a pan!  That commercial from my childhood conjours up images of a woman doing anything she sets her mind to.  I seem to be on a roll lately of fixing, making, and redoing around the house.  I finished my latest project just in time to share on
Shanty to Chic's "I made it without my Husband" link party.
I had these old shelves that I took out of my craft area two years ago
because they kept falling off the wall:

And these much needed, but not-so-attractive, lights from IKEA
(please do not mind my very messy craft desk):

What is a girl to do?
Buy some black Krylon spray paint, gorilla glue, and black colonial brackets
and raid dear hubby's screw draw & then go to town!
This is my finished product.  I am so happy with them!

Now all I need to do is make some pretty cord covers!

Need a challenge to move your body?

Well, I did!  Seems like since I have started working outside the house I struggle to get my runs in.  Coming home and sitting on the couch chatting with my girls is so much more inviting.  BUTT (yes, it will be a big butt if I don't start moving consistently), I do need to exercise and be a good role model that way, too.
So my friend E. pointed us in the direction of the 100 Mile Fitness Blog.  It is a challenge blog to move 100 miles by the end of the year.  I signed myself up!
